Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, I’m many countries, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. These information know everyone, but not a single person can answer these questions. If they have any advantages and disadvantages, where do they produced, who produced them and many other. When the humans heard these type of topics, they only speak about good side of it , but no one asks if there are any “bad” sides of the story. Obviously, it is acceptable to have food produced all over the world, because your purchaser have a choice, which of these food will them buy, but it is necessary to have information about foods brand, how it is made, who made it and so on. When you have market you have responsibility to have quality. You are responsible for your consumers health. Another hand , when you purchase something you have to check if everything is in the right place, and if not, tell the manager or someone who is responsible for it. Today, in the world are produced many types of food, and many qualities of food, whether it is bad, good, fantastic, fancy, cheap or organic. Not everything that is pricey, is good or other way around. In my opinion everything has advantages and disadvantages, and it is our job to tell these stories to people who only see other side and not the whole story. In the end, the health is the main thing that we should be focusing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the topic but fails to develop a clear position. While the prompt asks whether the global availability of food is a positive or negative development, the essay remains vague, stating 'everything has advantages and disadvantages' without providing a balanced argument or a definitive stance. The ideas are largely underdeveloped; for instance, the mention of 'quality' and 'consumer health' is not linked back to the global nature of food production. The essay lacks specific examples or logical support, resulting in a superficial treatment of the prompt. To improve, you must clearly state your position in the introduction and support it with well-reasoned arguments and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. It is written as a single paragraph, which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. There is a lack of logical sequencing; the transition between discussing consumer choice and the responsibility of the market is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used in a limited and sometimes mechanical way, such as 'Another hand' (which is an incorrect collocation) and 'In the end'. The referencing is often unclear, particularly the use of 'they' and 'these' without clear antecedents, which hinders the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'These information know everyone' (should be 'This information is known by everyone') and 'your purchaser have a choice' (should be 'consumers have a choice'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of words occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to global trade, food security, and consumer rights.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often cause difficulty for the reader. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement ('where do they produced', 'in the world are produced many types'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'If they have any advantages and disadvantages, where do they produced, who produced them and many other.' The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. You need to work on basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and ensuring that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
