Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 142 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. While you have stated a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words by fully expanding on your main points with clear examples and logical explanations. The current response is too brief to adequately address all parts of the task, resulting in a low score for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and body paragraphs. However, the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The primary justification' and 'An additional reason', but the flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a conclusion and the unfinished final sentence disrupt the coherence of the piece. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and contains several inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'worldwide manufactured eatable things' is unnatural; 'globally sourced food products' would be more appropriate. You also use 'substancial' (spelling error) and 'giant shops', which are quite basic. While you attempt to use some academic vocabulary, the errors in word formation and collocation are noticeable and occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and checking your spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('it not only provide'), missing articles ('an healthy choice'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after commas). These errors are frequent and sometimes distract the reader, though they do not completely prevent communication. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation. Practicing the use of complex sentences while ensuring they remain error-free will also help improve your score.
