Student answer (Band 5.0)
Today topic is about those people who went the the supermarkets and bought all kind of foods in the whole world .
Basically I thought that it is a positive development and sometime I thought that it is a negative and in this essay I explained the both. there are some advantages of big markets such as super markets and some others. firstly if a man want to buy any type if food and some other needy things then he go to supermarket and in this type markets held all kind of things that are related to food and then man bought those product he was needed. This is a big relax for public.
secondly the supermarkets gives many opportunities of the job to many young peoples and mostly it helped the poor student because they have no enough money to bear their study expensive and then these students make sure their jobs and they do hardworking and they also earned money and completed their education. For example a few year ago my cousin got admission in a University of Lahore and he started study in BS computer science and he wanted to became a mater in information technology but he had no much money to got part in this institute. And then picked up a job in shopping firm and he started doing hardworking day and night and earned many money by his part time job and this persuaded him to became a IT specialist.
Other hand there are some problems of huge markets first is it waste the land because in the big cities have land a bit small due high rate of population and second is that these are the large cause of increase in pollution because many people used their private vehicles to go to market.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both positive and negative aspects of global food availability in supermarkets. However, the position is inconsistent; you state you think it is positive, then mention it is negative, and finally explain both. A higher band requires a clear, consistent position throughout the essay. While you provide some relevant ideas, such as job creation and environmental concerns, the development is somewhat superficial. The example regarding your cousin is relevant but takes up a significant portion of the essay, which limits the space available to develop other key arguments. To improve, ensure your stance is clearly stated in the introduction and maintained throughout, and balance your supporting points more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'firstly', 'secondly', 'other hand'). There are issues with logical progression; the transition between the benefits of supermarkets and the personal anecdote about your cousin is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are poorly connected, making the flow feel mechanical. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed central theme.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'big', 'things', 'good', and 'money'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'big relax for public', 'make sure their jobs', and 'became a mater'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a more varied range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations. For example, instead of 'big markets', use 'large-scale retail outlets', and instead of 'make sure their jobs', use 'secure employment'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. There are consistent issues with verb tense (e.g., 'today topic is', 'he go to supermarket'), subject-verb agreement, and article usage. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'he had no much money to got part in this institute'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
