Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modern era, in various nations customers prefer to purchase food produced all over the world. I believe that this is a positive development and I will discuss my viewpoints in the following paragraphs.

To commence with, people can buy different kinds of food under one roof. To elaborate, today there is no need to travel to different countries to try new cuisines because everything is available in their own country such as at supermarkets and shopping centres. Moreover, Individuals can save their hard-earned money and precious time which they were spent on travelling, through which they can utilize that money for other purposes and people can spend that leisure time with family and friends.

Afterthat, another advantage is that people can open restaurants of foreign dishes and mix them with their local style and taste to make a new cuisine due to this they are earning good revenue and fulfil their basic needs easily. Apart from this, foreign frozen food is also available in market stores like, pizza and pasta are easy to make because such food just needs to put in the microwave for 4 to 5 minutes to get prepared. For example, a survey was conducted in the USA which showed that people maintained luxury lifestyle who were making foreign cuisines in their home country, such as sushi from Japan and butter chicken from India.

To conclude, no doubt, everybody prefers to taste different food while buying foreign food in their home country can save time and money both

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'earning good revenue' by mixing cuisines is mentioned but not fully explored or linked back to the broader impact on consumers or society. The example of the USA survey is vague and lacks specific detail, which limits the depth of the argument. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced explanations and ensure that every point directly supports your central thesis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Afterthat' (which should be 'After that' or 'Furthermore') and 'due to this they are earning'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the flow of the conclusion. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help your ideas connect more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'cuisines', 'revenue', and 'frozen food'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward word choice, such as 'market stores' instead of 'supermarkets' or 'retailers', and 'maintained luxury lifestyle' which is not a standard collocation. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations to convey your points with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors. For instance, 'which they were spent on travelling' is incorrect (should be 'which they used to spend on traveling'), and 'such food just needs to put in the microwave' should be passive voice ('needs to be put'). There are also issues with article usage and punctuation, particularly in the final sentence, which is a sentence fragment. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and passive voice construction will significantly improve your accuracy.
