Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 116 words. This severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly at 'on the other hand,'. Because the response is less than half the required length, it fails to address the task requirements adequately. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure you complete the essay structure.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a conclusion make it difficult to follow a coherent progression. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'on the other hand' and 'in the past', but their usage is sometimes mechanical or contextually incorrect. Paragraphing is present but incomplete. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using linking words more naturally to connect your ideas within and between paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'largly' (largely), 'advantsge' (advantage), and 'varity' (variety). You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing like 'have all things available'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure your spelling is accurate. Expanding your range of collocations and avoiding informal terms like 'junk food' in an academic context will also help.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'different partsof the world', 'supermarket are allows to enjoying food', and 'there have all things available'. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence control. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms, and proofreading for basic sentence structure errors. Increasing the variety of your sentence structures will also be beneficial.
