Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern world, some individuals believe that customer having a multiple option in the mall can purchase multiple continental food at a single place. This issue has become common and has attracted significant public attention. It has become a topic of widespread debate due to its impact on individuals and society. This essay will discuss on agree side and positive development.

To commence, one of the major reasons is that consumers have multiple choices and they can choose wisely according to their needs. In other words, few supermarkets have multiple cuisines options such as Italian, Japanese, Thai etc. This is because people are more concerned about their taste and they believe that trying multiple cuisines can be worth for their money. In addition, there is an exchange of cultural knowledge among the public such as having knowledge of Italian pasta know the real recipe of the food. Thus, it can be beneficial for individuals and society in the long term.

Furthermore, another reason is why I support this is that there are multiple stores in which customers get convenience to purchase food from another country without the cost of travel, likewise if anyone wants to try Chinese food so it is easier for public to taste in the supermarket itself. However, there is an advantage for businesses to grow their economy and boost their sales and generate revenue. Meanwhile, most countries are also interested in Indian food such as pickle and local spices and it is beneficial for small businesses to generate revenue to sell and export these order. Hence, it will provide benefit for small businesses and stores in the long term.

In conclusion, these supermarkets provide multiple food to consumer get wide variety of choice in which people can try multiple cuisines at one place and having a knowledge about the product will grow the cultural diversity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by identifying the development as positive. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention cultural exchange and economic benefits, the arguments are not fully extended. For instance, the point about 'cultural knowledge' is introduced but not clearly explained in terms of how it impacts society beyond just knowing a recipe. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. Ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same idea of 'variety' multiple times.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel forced or slightly unnatural, such as 'another reason is why I support this is that'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one without repetitive phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'multiple options', 'multiple choices', and 'multiple cuisines'. There is an attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'cultural diversity' and 'generate revenue', but the range is not sufficiently wide to demonstrate flexibility. Some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'customer having a multiple option' and 'worth for their money'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations to avoid repetition and add nuance to your arguments.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'customer having a multiple option', 'discuss on agree side', and 'having a knowledge about the product'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and preposition usage, and try to vary your sentence structure with more complex clauses.
