Student answer (Band 6.0)
In present times, the technology has evolved strikingly where people can eventually get anything from anywhere around the world such as people can experience and enjoy varried cultural foods, cosmetics and more. However, this can deliberately affect negatively on the preserverance of their cultural food items. In this essay, i will further discuss both the views in the following paragraphs.
Nowadays, the modern advancements have made it a lot easier for society to experience everything from cultural experiences to devouring different foods all around the world. Many people do not get the opportunity to travel abroad, but nowadays they can definitely purchase whichever food products they want from supermarkets as they provide varried cultural items over the globe at one place. For example, my grandmother always wanted to experience Italy's cultural food but have never gotten the chance to visit the place so i decided to order food from my nearby supermarket to let her enjoy her choices sitting from home.
On the other hand, majorly the reason how it affects negatively is that if people purchases food items which are transported internationally as a result consumers have to pay extra service charges and tax which makes it over costlier. For instance, a famous bakery called Charles Bakers from France retails their sourdough bread for 5 dollars locally but same product costed to 18 dollars when transported to different location. Thus, it is not a pocket-friendly option to choose for middle class or poor people.
Another reason is that, it will adversely affect on younger generations as they will eventually not preserve their cultural food and their likeliness for their local food will be reduced significantly when they get multiple varried cultural options ready to devour. For example, the youngsters of china are facing this issue where the local food is relatively less enjoyed comparatively to other international food dishes.
In conclusion, people should enjoy each culture and their food but they should never forget their roots and try to preserve their culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the benefits and drawbacks of global food availability. However, the introduction states the essay will discuss 'both the views', which is slightly confusing as the prompt asks for your opinion on whether it is a positive or negative development. While you provide reasons for both sides, your own position is not clearly articulated or maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, such as the cost implications and cultural preservation, but the development of these points is somewhat superficial. To improve, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported in each paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the other hand', 'For example', and 'In conclusion', to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow of ideas within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to show more complex relationships between your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'modern advancements', 'adversely affect', and 'significantly'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'over costlier' (should be 'more expensive'), 'varried' (spelling error), and 'likeliness' (should be 'preference'). Some expressions are slightly unnatural, such as 'devouring different foods'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your spelling is accurate throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'people purchases' (should be 'people purchase') and 'have never gotten' (should be 'had never gotten'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
