In today's world, supermarkets have become individuals' first choice for shopping. In many countries, consumers can purchase food products from all over the world at supermarkets. I believe that this is a positive development. This essay will discuss my opinion with relevant examples.

To begin with, the main reason why supermarkets have become popular worldwide is that they provide customers with convenient services, reasonable prices, and easy access to food products from around the world. To elaborate on this, supermarkets arrange products in different sections and provide information about their prices and features, which helps people purchase items according to their needs. In addition, supermarkets often offer atrractive discounts with cashback, allowing customers to save money. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food in supermarkets is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph effectively discusses convenience and pricing, the second paragraph regarding the national economy is less convincing and lacks logical depth. The link between individual shopping habits and national economic growth is asserted rather than explained, making the argument feel slightly superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with logical reasoning and concrete, relevant examples that directly relate to the global nature of the food supply.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. For instance, the phrase 'To explain this' is used in a way that feels a bit forced. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that the flow between sentences is more natural would enhance the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'industrialization' and 'revenue', which are used correctly. However, there are minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'atrractive' (spelling error), 'it's directly impact' (grammatical error in word form), and 'spread awareness' (which is slightly imprecise in this context). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that spelling is accurate throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'boost national economy' (missing article), 'increase company's revenue' (missing article), 'invested on the supermarkets' (incorrect preposition), and 'go to a supermarket' (incorrect gerund usage). Additionally, there are punctuation and capitalization slips, such as the lowercase 'i' in the conclusion. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and refining the use of articles and prepositions will help in achieving a higher band score.
