Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays everyone can go to supermarket to buy their daily needs as they have all things coming from different markets. As far as I concerned this is a beneficial development for society.

On the one hand where we can get everything thing from all over the world at one place it make very easy for consumers to get the required brand of their well being. This is also a beneficial chance for seller to reach all over the word at single place. Supermarket allow them to place their well good products to reach all types of consumers, so if consumer notice and use their brand they can order them for more.

On the other hand sometime it can be detrimental for local products as they will not get the place for marketing and reaching the global market. However supermarket have place for local products to attract local customers. For example supermarket like D-mart have all global brand but specific place for local products like Ravi masala for local customers to find them easily. I believe this is positive development as local products also get notice by all world and local customers also get brand deals from all over world.

To conclude we can say that consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food products produced all over world is positive development as they will know about taste of different cultures as having their food and other products not only this but also local products getting noticeable in global market.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food products is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits for consumers and sellers, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the point about 'well being' is unclear, and the argument regarding local products is slightly contradictory. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples and deeper analysis of the economic or cultural implications of globalized food markets, rather than just stating that it is 'beneficial'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as in the phrase 'if consumer notice and use their brand they can order them for more'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between your supporting points would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'well good products' and 'get notice by all world'. You rely on simple, repetitive language. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to international trade, consumer behavior, and cultural exchange. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include missing articles ('go to supermarket'), subject-verb agreement errors ('Supermarket allow them'), and awkward sentence construction ('As far as I concerned'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly regarding pluralization, articles, and verb forms, to ensure your writing is more polished and professional.
