Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. The ideas regarding cultural exchange and economic growth are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example provided about the United States' net worth increasing by 60% lacks clarity and feels like an unsupported generalization rather than a well-developed argument. To reach a higher band, you should provide more logical explanations and concrete, realistic examples that directly support your main points, rather than relying on potentially inaccurate statistics.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Nonetheless', and 'To wrap up' to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'To elaborate it, comparing with the ancient time'. Additionally, some transitions are mechanical, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the pronoun usage in the final paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences connect more naturally will help improve the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalization', 'ventures', and 'cultural diversity'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'positive circumstances' (instead of 'development'), 'manufactured from' (food is produced, not manufactured), and 'taken a major league' (which is an incorrect idiom). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they limit your ability to convey ideas with precision. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural collocations and academic phrases would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'which was manufactured' (should be 'which are manufactured') and 'globalization works as connecting' (should be 'connects'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect comma usage. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency will significantly improve your accuracy.
