Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both positive and negative aspects of global food availability. However, the development of ideas is limited and often superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'allergic persons' is unclear and lacks logical connection to the broader topic. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the depth of the discussion. The conclusion is fragmented and does not effectively summarize the main points or provide a final synthesis of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay meets the required length.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and missing transitions. While some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Top of the list this, a significant effect on local farmers,' which lacks a proper subject. The conclusion is particularly weak and lacks the necessary cohesive structure to tie the essay together effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of inaccurate word choice, such as 'ample nations' instead of 'many countries' and 'economy arise' instead of 'economic growth.' The phrase 'food is parserved in a lot of chemicals' contains a spelling error and lacks precision. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, such as 'global supply chains' or 'economic repercussions,' rather than relying on simple, sometimes misused, descriptive terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('food which produced'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structure ('Sometime people unable to consume'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly in the final paragraph. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence accuracy and the correct use of articles and verb forms is essential.
