Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays with the increase in the demand of individuals, countries are offering wide varieties of products that consumers can buy from the supermarkets that are imported from all over the world. In my perception, it is a positive development despite some disadvantages.
To begin with, there are multifarious significance of buying food products imported from other countries. Supermarkets that import good from countries provide customers with a wide range of choices. It allows them to explore supermarkets with vast variety and distinct prices. This provides them a wonderful shopping experience. It allows them to buy eatable things which are not locally available. Moreover, the seasonal fruits and vegetable can be easily accessible for the whole year. For instance, fruits like mango which is a seasonal fruit is available only during summers, but when they are imported from outside countries it can be available to the consumers for the year-round.
Furthermore, it also creates a plethora of employment opportunities for various sectors like transport companies, import and export companies which helps in boosting the local economy. Additionally, products are imported from different countries. It helps the consumers to know about the ingredients used in making the food item and various other criteria that is not available in their home country.
Although, importing of goods have various benefits, it has some drawbacks too. Primarily, the importing of good from one country to another requires transportation and fuel used to run those transports have a negative impact on the environment. Apart from this, farmers feel more pressurize as fruits and vegetables they grow in their farms are less sellable in the market which make them to face a serious loss.
To conclude, this statement has various pros and cons. But its optimistic side overshadows its pessimistic side. The products are available to the consumers in a wide range which allow them to enjoy the different food items throughout the year.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both the benefits (variety, employment, availability) and the drawbacks (environmental impact, pressure on local farmers). The ideas are generally well-developed, though some points, such as the claim that importing helps consumers learn about ingredients, could be more clearly linked to the overall argument. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that every supporting point is fully explained with a clear logical connection to the prompt's core question regarding whether this is a positive or negative development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Although'. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the use of 'Apart from this' and 'Additionally' could be varied to improve the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the advantages from the disadvantages. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the link between the employment benefits and the consumer experience could be smoother to enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'multifarious', 'plethora', and 'year-round'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'eatable things' (should be 'edible items'), 'seasonal fruits and vegetable can be easily accessible' (should be 'are easily accessible'), and 'farmers feel more pressurize' (should be 'pressurized'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'importing of goods have' (subject-verb agreement), 'the seasonal fruits and vegetable' (pluralization), and 'which make them to face' (incorrect verb pattern). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor issues with article usage and verb forms. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed accurately. The errors present do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they are frequent enough to limit the score.
