Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by arguing that the availability of global food is a positive development. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding economic growth and consumer choice are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure that your arguments are fully explored to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'So that native of that country stay in ease.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word forms and collocations, such as 'expending their agricultural activities' (likely meaning 'expanding') and 'lack of internationally access' (should be 'international access'). You rely on simple, repetitive vocabulary like 'food produced' and 'boost'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('this boost to international trade'), incorrect word forms ('can not sale'), and missing articles ('have a access'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and article usage, will significantly improve your writing.
