Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention cultural connection and economic benefits, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the link between visiting a restaurant and improving communication skills is not clearly explained or relevant to the core topic of global food trade. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported argument with specific examples that directly relate to the prompt's focus on global food availability.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. While you use cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between food and 'deterioration in hate' is vague. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on simple, repetitive terms like 'good', 'advantage', and 'food'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'build strong connection with other religion' (which is factually and linguistically imprecise) and 'deterioration in hate'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to globalization, international trade, and cultural exchange, and pay closer attention to correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this development provide'), article usage (e.g., 'a individual'), and punctuation errors. Additionally, there are several instances of sentence fragments or run-on sentences that affect the readability of the text. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, will significantly improve your score.
