Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, in many states, individuals from the general populace illustrate interest in buying physically food, specially from the supermarkets which contain the food import from all over the world. In my opinion, it is a positive development to buy food for themselves from the market.

To begin with, It's beneficial for someone to buy food himself physically, this aspect has many advantages for the consumers as well as for the remaining family members. Firstly, It's imperative to note that, spoil and detrimental things rampant everywhere in our society. Due to these useless things, there is a growing tendency of people to go physically in the markets and trend for opting healthy foods for themselves enhancing day by day.

In addition, when people visit markets physically, they know the prices of everything and trying to avoid the scam which is rampant everywhere in our society. At this time, they also purchase other things which are imperative for their household tasks. So, it would prove benefit for them because they feel successful in saving their precious time.

A prime instance is my mother, who visits the market in the early morning and also saves her time by purchasing everything in ones. Likewise, the items include food, grocery and other household things. In my imagination, It's a positive development because people have an opportunity to buy healthy and fresh foods for them from the markets which are located near their houses.

To put it briefly, though physically buying foods consume some time rather than online but it also offers an opportunity to a consumer to buy fresh food for himself.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the topic of global food availability, but it misinterprets the prompt. The task asks about the implications of consuming food produced globally (e.g., environmental impact, local economy, food security), whereas you focus almost exclusively on the benefits of shopping in person at a supermarket versus online. Because you have focused on the 'physical' aspect of shopping rather than the 'global' aspect of the food source, the development of the main argument is tangential. To improve, ensure you directly address the prompt's core theme—the global nature of food supply—rather than the logistics of how people shop.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is often hindered by unclear transitions and repetitive phrasing. While you use cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'In addition,' the connection between these ideas and the central topic is weak. The referencing is sometimes confusing, such as the transition from discussing global food to the personal habits of your mother. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring each paragraph stays strictly focused on the prompt's specific question would significantly improve your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and occasionally imprecise. Phrases like 'physically food' and 'spoil and detrimental things' are unnatural and impede clarity. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'purchasing everything in ones' or 'prove benefit.' To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning word families and common collocations related to global trade and consumerism. Avoid using informal or vague language like 'useless things' or 'in my imagination,' and aim for more academic, precise terminology to describe the economic and social impacts of global food distribution.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. Issues include incorrect article usage (e.g., 'the food import'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'buying foods consume'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'trend for opting healthy foods... enhancing day by day'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help you progress to a higher band.
