Student answer (Band 5.5)

In various nations, customer can visit supermarket and purchase all kinds of goods produced all over globe. I believe this is a positive development since, it saves money and time of the consumer, plus it also benefits the citizen with healthy food source.

One primary reason for being the positive growth is that it saves money and time of the consumer. During past individuals used to walk all over the town just to find required foods which waste their finances and time on transport. But in this contemporary world supermarket are everywhere which makes people life more efficient. For instance, even in developing country like Nepal has supermarket such as big mart, Bhat bhateni, which is open full hours and is in every distance that helps people to fulfil the needs by providing all the stuffs required .

Another significant reason is it provides healthy foods. While visiting the market we can see the tag and date of expiry which clearly mention the manufacture dates that will help consumer to pick the latest one . It also benefits the health when people can eat fresh fruits from all over the world without traveling a distance. Marts try to avoid the expire product so citizen can be healthier by eating recently made food items listed on the product. For example whenever I buy certain food I never have to check the date because they always replace old one with the new stock so I never have to worry about being ill .

In conclusion, big supermarket really helps the citizen by providing health benefits and also saves times and money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food products is a positive development. The ideas regarding convenience and food safety are relevant, though the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about food safety is slightly repetitive and relies on personal anecdotes rather than broader analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of global trade, such as economic impact or environmental concerns, to provide a more balanced and comprehensive discussion. The conclusion is brief and merely restates the main points without adding finality or synthesis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance' and 'Another significant reason', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'For being the positive growth', which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use basic terms like 'stuffs', 'big mart', and 'healthy foods' repeatedly. While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there are some awkward collocations, such as 'in every distance' and 'full hours'. To improve, focus on using more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. For example, instead of saying 'stuffs', use 'commodities' or 'produce'. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated synonyms will help demonstrate a better command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include missing articles ('visit supermarket', 'in developing country'), subject-verb agreement errors ('customer can', 'supermarket are'), and incorrect word forms ('expire product' instead of 'expired product'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammar, particularly pluralization, article usage, and verb tense consistency, to ensure your writing is more accurate.
