Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 110 words long. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. The essay stops abruptly mid-sentence, preventing a full discussion of the topic or a conclusion. While a position is stated, the lack of development and the incomplete nature of the response mean that the requirements of the task are not met. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, provide a clear introduction, fully developed body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a concluding summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'For example', the text is fragmented and incomplete. The lack of a clear structure and the abrupt ending significantly hinder the flow of information. To achieve a higher score, you need to organize your ideas into distinct, well-structured paragraphs and use a wider range of cohesive devices to link your sentences and ideas more naturally and effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as 'anything' and 'items'. There are also errors in word formation and collocation, for example, 'anything producing in anywhere' should be 'anything produced anywhere'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, you should focus on learning more precise vocabulary related to global trade and consumerism, and practice using these words in context to ensure they are used accurately and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with sentence structure, punctuation, and verb forms, such as 'Before sometime these type of facilities' and 'it is very beneficial'. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There are also significant punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation, while also attempting to incorporate more complex sentence structures.
