Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modern era, people can access exotic things of different nations at their home country all credit go to globalisation and technology. Due to fast transportation, technology transfer and many more things people can easily get every things regardless of location. Thus, nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and purchase food that are produced all the global. I think it is the positive development.

To commence with, it encourages people to respect other culture. They can have authentic cuisine in their home nation . They appreciate taste and cooking techniques. For instance, many Indians are crazy for multiple Korean snacks but everyone cannot afford to travel Korea and have Korean dishes. Fortunately, it has become possible because supermarkets offer package Korean food those are imported from Korea. Even, people who reside in foreign country can have their tradition meal and indigenous food items at supermarket. They do not tend to wait long to eat their nation meal just go to market, bring them and heat them. People get food instantly. Apart from this, it saves money of traveling different country in seek of try their authentic dishes.

Nevertheless, this trend also has some drawback as well. Firstly, the food products are available at supermarket might be frozen form. Consuming daily deep-freeze food can be hazardous of human health and even food tend to loss it original favour. Further, transportation cost is quite high because transporting any food goods require lots of care, sometime meat, fish and other animal food must be packed in small fridges. Cost of airplane, ships, electricity to run refrigerators, fuel and many more things cost generous amount of many.

To recapitulate, although having several drawback I always think it is positive trend. Every one can try exotic food at affordable price as it is saying change is spice of life. Some of setbacks can be cope with advance technology and the government policies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments for both the positive aspects (cultural appreciation, convenience) and the negative aspects (health concerns, environmental/economic costs). The ideas are generally well-supported with examples, such as the mention of Korean snacks. However, some points could be further developed to reach a higher band; for instance, the discussion on environmental costs is a bit brief. Overall, the response is balanced and directly answers the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Apart from this', 'Nevertheless', and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing and flow, such as the transition between the benefits of Korean food and the general point about people living in foreign countries. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally clear.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'globalisation', 'authentic cuisine', and 'indigenous'. There are some instances of awkward word choice or collocation, such as 'every things' instead of 'everything', 'loss it original favour' instead of 'lose its original flavor', and 'cost generous amount of many' instead of 'cost a significant amount of money'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on more precise collocations and ensure consistent spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('food that are produced', 'food tend to loss'), article usage, and pluralization ('every things', 'different country'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas and awkward phrasing. These errors occur frequently but rarely prevent the reader from understanding your intended meaning. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical structures will help improve your score.
