Student answer (Band 6.5)
In most of the nation these days consumer can go to supermarket and purchase food material all over the world . This essay will discussed some possible postive or negative development in subsequent .
On the positive side, the availability of international food provides consumers with greater variety and nutritional benefits. For instance, people living in cold countries like Canada can now enjoy tropical fruits like mangoes and avocados from India and Mexico throughout the year, which was impossible in the past. This not only enriches their diet but also allows them to experience different cultures and cuisines without travelling. Furthermore, it creates economic opportunities for farmers in developing countries who can export their produce and earn a better income.
However, there are some negative aspects to this development that cannot be ignored. Firstly, importing food over long distances increases carbon emissions due to transportation by air and sea, which contributes to environmental pollution and climate change. Secondly, imported food is often less fresh because it requires preservatives to last the journey, which can be harmful to health. Finally, it can negatively affect local farmers, as people may prefer cheaper imported goods over local produce, threatening local agriculture.
In conclusion, although importing food globally has environmental and health-related disadvantages such as pollution from transport and loss of freshness, I believe the benefits of variety, cultural exchange, nutritional improvement and economic growth for farmers in developing nations outweigh the negatives. Therefore, if managed sustainably with proper regulations, it is a positive development overall.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The essay addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided a balanced view, discussing both the benefits (variety, nutritional benefits, economic opportunities) and the drawbacks (carbon emissions, health concerns, impact on local farmers). The ideas are well-extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of tropical fruits in Canada. The conclusion clearly restates your position. To reach a higher band, ensure that the introduction is more precise; for example, 'This essay will discussed' contains a grammatical error and is slightly vague. Overall, the task is fully addressed with a well-developed argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central theme, and you use cohesive devices effectively, such as 'On the positive side,' 'Furthermore,' 'However,' and 'Firstly.' The transition between paragraphs is smooth, and the overall structure is easy to follow. The referencing is generally clear, though the opening sentence is slightly disjointed due to grammatical inaccuracies. To improve, ensure that your linking words are used naturally and that the flow between sentences remains consistent throughout the entire response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'nutritional benefits,' 'economic opportunities,' and 'managed sustainably' are used appropriately. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'In most of the nation' (should be 'nations') and 'food material' (which is slightly unnatural; 'food products' or 'produce' would be better). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical errors, particularly in the introduction ('This essay will discussed' should be 'will discuss' or 'will be discussing'; 'postive or negative development' should be plural). However, these errors do not impede communication. Your control over punctuation is generally good, and the majority of your sentences are clear. To reach a higher band, focus on eliminating these small slips and aim for a greater variety of complex grammatical structures, such as conditional sentences or passive voice, to demonstrate more flexibility.
