Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to address the prompt effectively. While you mention the topic of global food availability, the essay quickly descends into incoherent, off-topic arguments. For instance, the third paragraph discusses 'living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language,' which is completely irrelevant to the prompt about supermarkets and global food. Furthermore, the ideas presented are vague and lack development; phrases like 'augmenting their chances of excellence' do not explain why global food is a positive or negative development. The position is unclear, and the content does not provide relevant examples or logical reasoning related to the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay lacks logical progression. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Hence,' they are used mechanically and often connect sentences that have no logical relationship. The paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs does not follow a clear theme. The final paragraph is particularly disjointed, as it attempts to summarize the essay but introduces unrelated concepts. The lack of clear topic sentences and the inclusion of irrelevant information make the essay difficult to follow, resulting in a lack of overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You demonstrate an attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary, such as 'myriad,' 'plethora,' and 'pivotal,' but these are often used incorrectly or in inappropriate contexts. For example, 'The most dominate one' (should be 'dominant') and 'too go to ignore' (should be 'too good to ignore') show significant issues with collocation and word choice. The repetition of the prompt's exact phrasing throughout the essay suggests a limited ability to paraphrase effectively. The vocabulary is often used in a way that obscures the intended meaning rather than clarifying it.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede communication. You struggle with basic subject-verb agreement, such as 'consumer can go' (should be 'consumers can go') and 'Another pivotal benefits' (should be 'Another pivotal benefit'). Sentence structures are often awkward or incomplete, such as 'an upsurge in the number of believing that...' and 'this learning such essential attributes.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of commas. The range of structures is limited, and the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read.
