Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays many nations are getting food from all over the world just by going to the supermarkets.I believe,it is a very good development, as people can explore foods all over the world, also the immigrants can have the access to get home country food easily.
Supermarkets offer various types of edible products to their customers. As they are giving the consumers to have different ranges of product,so that comsumer can get a good idea of local and foreign foods. Moreover, they profit a lot by selling wide range of foods. They not only get profit but also attracts the customers who are from different countries. So many food enthusious persons want to taste foreign foods, for them it is a good opportunity to get those from the same place, from where they buy everyday grosaries.
In the current world, individuals migrate one country to another very often. When people go to a foreign country for study or job purpose, they tend to miss the homemade foods. As a result, they search for vegetables that are imported from their country or the neighboring one to get the taste of home,Therefore, they also tend to search for the snacks or drinks or herbs from home country. In example, there are several Asian and African shops in the USA,those sells only Asian or African local foods. If one person can get everything from the supermarket,it makes easier the life of them, beacause of that,it should be considered a positive development.
In conclude, for the reason of serving a wide range of customers' necessity and giving the chance to explore foods from all around the world, supermarket has gone through a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that the availability of global food is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on cultural exploration and the benefits for immigrants. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about supermarkets profiting is mentioned but not fully linked to the 'positive development' argument in a sophisticated way. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the arguments could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion is present but brief.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'they' and 'as a result'. Some transitions feel slightly forced, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between supermarket profits and the consumer experience could be smoother. Overall, the structure is coherent, but the flow between sentences could be more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'enthusiastic' (though misspelled as 'enthusious') and 'necessity'. However, there are several spelling errors ('grosaries', 'beacause') and some awkward collocations, such as 'edible products' instead of 'food items' or 'produce'. The range is sufficient to communicate the main points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. There are also grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'immigrants can have the access to get' (wordy/awkward) and 'those sells' (subject-verb agreement). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. A greater variety of error-free complex structures would be needed to demonstrate better control.
