In recent years ,buying food from all over the world in the supermarket has become increasingly common. Although this development has several advantages ,it also has certain disadvantages. This essay will examine both sides and explain why i believe that it is a positive development.
One significant advantage of buying food from different countries is that people have a much wider choice of food products. This is because supermarket can provide that product which is not available in local areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 80 words. As a result, the task is only partially addressed. The introduction sets up a balanced discussion, but the essay stops abruptly after only one supporting point. Because the response is so brief, the ideas are severely underdeveloped, and the position is not fully explored or supported with relevant examples as requested by the prompt. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is too short to demonstrate a full range of cohesive devices or effective paragraphing. While the opening paragraph is logically structured and uses a basic cohesive device ('Although'), the essay ends prematurely, preventing the development of a coherent argument. The transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is clear, but the lack of further content makes it impossible to assess the overall progression of ideas. To achieve a higher score, you need to write a complete essay with clear paragraph breaks and a variety of linking words to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is functional but basic. Phrases like 'increasingly common' and 'wider choice' are appropriate, but the range is limited due to the brevity of the text. There is no attempt to use less common or more sophisticated vocabulary. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more precise terminology related to global trade, food security, or consumer habits. For instance, instead of 'wider choice', you could use 'a more diverse array of culinary options'. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater nuance and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is generally accurate in the few sentences provided, with no major errors that impede communication. You have used a mix of simple and complex structures, such as the 'Although' clause in the introduction. However, the limited length prevents an assessment of your ability to maintain control over a wider range of complex structures. There is a minor punctuation error regarding the space before the comma in the first sentence. To improve, focus on producing a longer, more varied text that demonstrates consistent control over complex grammatical forms.
