Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic benefits of global food trade and the convenience of 24/7 access. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the link between 'technical innovations' in supermarkets and 'nutritional food' is not clearly explained, and the example regarding night shifts feels slightly disconnected from the core topic of global food availability. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis of why global food availability is a positive development, perhaps touching on cultural exchange or food security, rather than focusing primarily on supermarket operating hours.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'For example', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or forced. The referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the transition into the final paragraph. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, though the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be more seamless.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'technological advancement', 'vicinity', and 'prosperity'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'vending zones' to describe supermarkets, 'well informed about this product' regarding pizza, and 'getting immense place in the heart'. These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a need for more natural phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in the India', 'in the night time'), subject-verb agreement ('people in India was'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are clunky, such as '70% of the people who are doing night shifts, having these nutritional food'. While you attempt complex structures, the control over them is inconsistent. Focusing on eliminating basic errors in articles and plurals will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
