Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's world, supermarkets offer a wide range food products imported from different parts of the world. I consider this as a positive development because it offers consumers with greater choices and put forward to food producing countries.
The main advantage of supermarkets is that people can now enjoy a wider variety of food than in past. It offers the products which cannot produced locally due to climate and geography differences. For instance, people of India can enjoy fruits of other countries such as New Zealand and give opportunity to export our spices to other part of world. This gives experience consumer without even travelling to abroad.
International importing can create competition among international suppliers and it can enhance the quality and quantity of products in super markets.
Another important benefit is the economic opportunity for the farmers and food producers by selling their product at high-range of price whereas it can lead to many employment such packaging and transportation of goods.
However, Transportation over long distances can lead to excessive pollution and increment of imported food can also significantly decrease the use of local products as it can also pressure on local producers. Although it can be balanced by maintaining both goods equally.
To conclude, I consider availability of international goods in supermarkets as a great development. It can lead a greater choice of goods to consumer and help countries to connect by both culturally and economically. Hence, it can be said that merits outweigh the demerits because the disadvantages can be improved by sustainable balance between local and imported goods.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of variety and economic opportunities, as well as the environmental and local market drawbacks. However, some points are under-developed; for instance, the mention of 'packaging and transportation' as employment opportunities is a good start but lacks specific elaboration. The conclusion effectively summarizes the stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more detailed examples or logical consequences, rather than listing several ideas briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'The main advantage', 'Another important benefit', and 'However' are used to guide the reader. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the sentence 'Although it can be balanced by maintaining both goods equally', where the subject of the clause is ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'sustainable balance' and 'economic opportunity'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'put forward to food producing countries' and 'give experience consumer'. Additionally, phrases like 'high-range of price' and 'increment of imported food' are slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the products which cannot produced'), verb forms ('cannot produced'), and prepositions ('connect by both culturally and economically'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'it can lead a greater choice of goods to consumer'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice would be beneficial.
