Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this evolving world, different kinds of food are being manufacturing in different territory, and exported these in supermarkets across the globe so that consumers can enjoy their lives. In this essay, I will discuss both its positive and negative developments. However, from my perspective, I strongly agree that consumers intake food produced worldwide has more positive development than negative.

On the one hand, the principle reason to strengthen my viewpoint is that soil quality can be different from place to place, which plays a pivotal role in producing crops. For instance, Rajshashi, a city of Bangladesh, is very well-known for growing mangoe trees. Every year, a large proportion of mangoes are transported in rest of the cities of bangladesh and also exported them globally. As a result of this, this widespread is not only ensure that Bangladeshi can enjoy the taste of this fruit, but foreigners also can eat this. Hence, this activity helps to earn money which strengthen the economy, and also give an opportunity to the people of eating varieties of food produced across the world.

On the other hand, some people think that they should not intake any food produced outside of their country, due to germs and contamination . They think that food produced outside can carry germs which later can spread infection and other diseases. For this, several people do not advocate the view of buying and consuming these food. However, it can be true, but i believe if consumers follow few steps such as washing, they can overcome these fears.

to sum up, i would reiterate that its positive development outweigh the negative view because it allows consumers to eat some food what usually do not grow in their country. Instead of missing the boat, they should seize the opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both the positive and negative aspects of global food trade. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example of mangoes from Bangladesh is relevant, the explanation of the negative side—health concerns—is quite brief and lacks depth. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the implications of your arguments, rather than just stating them. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, though it introduces a new idiom that feels slightly out of place.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To sum up' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For this, several people do not advocate...' and 'However, it can be true, but i believe...'. The flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this activity', 'these fears') is always precise to avoid ambiguity.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pivotal role,' 'widespread,' and 'reiterate.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'being manufacturing' (should be 'manufactured'), 'intake food' (should be 'consuming food'), and 'this widespread is not only ensure' (grammatically incorrect). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your word forms (nouns vs. verbs) are accurate. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'exported these in supermarkets' (should be 'exporting these to'), 'transported in rest of the cities' (should be 'transported to the rest of the cities'), and 'if consumers follow few steps' (missing article 'a'). Additionally, there are consistent issues with capitalization (e.g., 'bangladesh', 'i') and subject-verb agreement. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your score.
