Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's world, it is widely believed that food products from all over the world are accesible to consumers in their local supermarkets. In my opinion it is a very healthy development for both producers and consumers in multiple ways.
Firstly, we are today living in a fast world where trade among different countries all around the globe is not an issue anymore. It has created numerous benefits for companies producing food products to market and sell their items in various different countries rather then just selling them in their own state and relying on limited audience. For instance, we live in Pakistan but we can see different products in our local supermarkets with a label saying "Made in China" which means that those specific products have come all the way from China which would have definitely increased the sales and overall revenue of the company producing the eatable.
Secondly, this type of trade is often very convenient for the consumers as well. In case one country does not have suitable weather conditions and is not able to produce some specific varieties of fruits and vegetables which is very common these days. So these products can simply be imported from a different country where they are in abundance and the consumers can easily access them.
Lastly, I believe that this is a very positive development where consumers can go to their local supermarkets and access the food products from all around the world. It brings an environment of equality and satisfaction which is very helpful for a peaceful society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that the global availability of food is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on economic benefits for producers and convenience for consumers. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about 'equality and satisfaction' in the final paragraph is vague and lacks sufficient explanation or connection to the broader topic. While the task is addressed, the supporting points could be more thoroughly explored to reach a higher band level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly' are used to guide the reader, although the transition between the second and third paragraphs feels slightly abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentences, such as the one beginning 'In case one country...', are grammatically fragmented, which slightly disrupts the flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'accessible' (misspelled as 'accesible') and 'revenue'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice, such as using 'eatable' as a noun, which is non-standard in this context. To improve, the writer should focus on more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'rather then' instead of 'rather than', and some awkward phrasing like 'the eatable'. Additionally, the sentence 'In case one country does not have suitable weather conditions and is not able to produce some specific varieties of fruits and vegetables which is very common these days' is a run-on sentence that lacks a clear main clause. These errors do not impede communication but occur frequently enough to limit the score.
