Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, ready made food is highly demanding. In many countries, consumers can easily access the food produced all over the world by visiting the nearsest mart. In my opinion, availability of food in the supermarket is a positive development.
One of the main advantage is that working men and women can benefit from this. This means that due to hectic schedule, it becomes easier for office going individuals to have ready to eat food rather than cooking after a long day shift. This helps in managing their time efficiently. Moreover, they will also buy food from supermart and carry them to school or office. For example, teachers can easily purchase food from the nearby store and have it in the break. Thus, it plays a major role in making the life easier for working people.
Another reason is that students who face difficulty in making their meals can benefit from this. Those living away from their home such as in hostels can face problems due to unavailability of facilities. Furthermore, due to academic deadlines , they try to focus more on their studies rather than cooking something special for them. For instance, majority of students living abraod are unaware of cooking methods or are unable to make food due to time shortage or shared living space. Although, buying food from the market is of great advantage.
In conclusion, having approach to food in the supermarkets that is produced all over the world is a plus point. However, it must be hygenic in order to stay healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by arguing that the availability of global food is a positive development. However, the focus is narrow. The prompt asks about food produced all over the world, but your arguments focus almost exclusively on 'ready-made' or 'convenience' food. You miss the opportunity to discuss the broader implications of global food trade, such as cultural exchange, economic benefits, or environmental concerns like carbon footprints. While your position is clear, the ideas are somewhat repetitive, focusing on time-saving for workers and students rather than exploring the full scope of the topic. To reach a higher band, ensure you address the 'global' aspect of the prompt more comprehensively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'One of the main advantage', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing; for instance, in the second paragraph, 'carry them' refers back to 'food', which is technically uncountable, making the pronoun choice slightly awkward. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the use of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'hectic schedule', 'efficiently', and 'unavailability'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors. For example, you use 'highly demanding' when you likely meant 'in high demand', and 'having approach to' instead of 'having access to'. There are also spelling errors such as 'nearsest', 'supermart', 'abraod', and 'hygenic'. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. To improve, focus on accurate collocations and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Although, buying food from the market is of great advantage.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors. You often struggle with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'One of the main advantage' (should be 'advantages') and 'in the break' (should be 'during their break'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'majority of students living abraod are unaware of cooking methods'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures and refining your grasp of articles and plurals will help.
