Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of global food availability in supermarkets. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you present a position, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'government prices' is not fully explained in the context of global trade. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a clear, distinct argument supported by specific examples or logical reasoning. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully synthesize the points made. Focusing on a more structured approach—one paragraph for advantages and one for disadvantages—would help you better meet the requirements for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition,' but their usage is sometimes repetitive or slightly unnatural. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'all the eating item include in food like vegetables, fruits, meet are presnt in oneplace.' The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by sentence-level errors, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logic smoothly. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and there are frequent spelling errors that occasionally impede communication, such as 'survial' for survival, 'perchase' for purchase, 'meet' for meat, and 'expiray' for expiry. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with precise collocations. While you attempt to use some topic-specific words like 'nutrients' and 'organic,' the overall range is insufficient for a higher band. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your range of synonyms to avoid repeating simple terms like 'food' and 'charges.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('all the food are fresh'), article usage ('the rates of food item'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which affects clarity. There is a limited range of complex structures, and the attempts at them are often inaccurate. For example, 'those food items that comes from other countries, consumers cannt diffrenciate' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation errors before moving on to more complex grammatical forms.
