Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, consumers get food produced from all over the world in a supermarket. People get everything they want from one place and it is convenient and reliable for shopping. Overall, this system makes positive development.

Basically, this makes positive development. People get different things from one place. The supermarket is a large place in one roof and inside the market there are variety of item that is essential for human being, it is managed in system by dividing every item in sections. It is very systematic and have positive developments. For example, if someone have to buy different item like beans, vegetable oils, and meat product of other nation then he can get everything in one place also, it is easy to find item by looking at the sections moreover, people get every food and product manufactured in different nation easily in one roof.

In another side, some people does prefer to buy food from online delivery and local shops since the supermarket is huge and they feel lazy to walk all around just to buy 1-2 item so, to save time they prefer other ways.

In my opinion, its is conclusive in most of the aspect even with little problem we can manage to go there and get many item or few item in one roof. There might be the problem to manage huge store and arrange every item in place and to inspect every product daily. Every person have there own preference and wants food of different company from different nation, like some person wants the food from UAE, or from Australia, they can easily manage to get it in one store.

In conclusion, the system have positive impact consumers can get everything from one place and have several outcome and is beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by identifying the development as positive. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention convenience and variety, the arguments lack depth and specific examples of the global impact of such trade. The discussion regarding the 'other side' is brief and does not fully explore the counter-argument, focusing instead on personal preference rather than broader economic or environmental implications. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure that the global nature of the topic is addressed more thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often hindered by repetitive phrasing and simple transitions. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'For example' and 'In conclusion', the connection between sentences is sometimes mechanical. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is not always smooth; for instance, the transition from the benefits of supermarkets to the mention of online delivery feels abrupt. Improving the use of a wider range of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'positive development' and 'get everything' are used multiple times, which limits the range of your expression. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'managed in system' and 'conclusive in most of the aspect', which slightly impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to global trade, consumerism, and logistics, and avoid repeating the same simple descriptors throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('some people does prefer', 'every person have there own preference') and incorrect article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and diversifying your sentence structures by using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., although, whereas, because) more accurately to connect your ideas.
