Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent times, buyers can go to a supermarket to purchase food that is produced all around the globe. In my opinion, this definately a positive development. This essay will suggest that convenience for customers and variety in heath improving products are the main benifits of this progress.
One of the primary reason this pehnomenon has brought is the conveniency for costumers to explore different cusine. People had to wait and plan for a specific time to travel someplace just to expereince certain food products. However, local markets and international import companies have made it easier for consumers to buys globaly produced food items. For example, a survey in the UK showed that all local supermarkets in London are filled with 76% food produced all across the world.
Moreover, there is a huge number of people who require food with specific ingredients or nutritions for health reasons. Such types of food was ristricted because of the unavailability or expensive on demand . However, local grocery stores are now providing huge range of healthy foods for all ages at reasonable price. For example, many supermarkets have opened in recent years in my city that provide all sort of food espacially nutrient-dense made globally.
In conclusion, availabilty of globally manufactured food products in local supermarkets have made purchasing accessible with range of food items for buyers and this certainly a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position and providing two main reasons: convenience and health benefits. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped; for instance, the example regarding 76% of food in London supermarkets is vague and lacks a clear connection to the broader argument. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples and ensure your arguments are fully explored to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the progression of ideas feels slightly disjointed. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the logical flow between your supporting points and your main arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'nutrient-dense' and 'phenomenon'. However, there are several spelling errors ('definately', 'benifits', 'pehnomenon', 'expereince', 'espacially') and word choice issues ('unavailability or expensive on demand'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and work on using collocations more accurately, such as using 'availability' instead of 'availabilty' and ensuring adjectives and nouns are used in the correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Examples include 'One of the primary reason this pehnomenon has brought is the conveniency' (subject-verb agreement and word choice) and 'Such types of food was ristricted' (subject-verb agreement). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your sentences.
