Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. You provide relevant reasons, such as the convenience of accessing diverse cuisines and the economic benefits of exports. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about economic benefits is mentioned briefly without sufficient explanation or examples. To improve, ensure that each main idea is fully supported with a clear explanation and a concrete example. While the position is consistent, the overall depth of the argument is somewhat superficial, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, and the paragraphing is inconsistent, with some very short, fragmented paragraphs. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions feel mechanical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate to convey your meaning, but it is quite basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'vatt', 'avaible', 'supermarkeis', 'contries', 'increaoxes') and some awkward word choices, such as 'mainly dish' instead of 'main dish'. You rely on simple descriptors and struggle with precise collocations. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common items, and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation to ensure your writing appears more professional and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some of them is supermarkeis'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. Some sentences are fragmented or lack clarity, such as 'I will explain my a agree to given statement'. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralisation.
