To commence with disagreement, this is not good for health. To explain it, sometime people grab unhealthy food such as chips, sugary drinks and another artificial drinks. Moreover, the food which we buy from convenient store is not fresh it is frozen food. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The candidate attempts to address the prompt regarding global supermarket food, although the response frequently confuses 'supermarkets' with 'convenient stores'. The position is stated in the introduction, mentioning both sides of the argument, but the development of ideas remains superficial. For instance, the discussion on health relies on unsupported generalizations and questionable statistics, such as claiming that '90% people suffering diseases because they are eating frozen food'. Similarly, the points regarding time-saving are repetitive and lack depth. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the arguments are insufficiently supported, aligning best with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which provides a basic structural framework. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed and mechanical. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly, such as 'To commence with disagreement' and 'Shifting towards agreement', which feel unnatural and forced. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the links between sentences do not always flow smoothly. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the paragraphs is weak, placing this performance firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and minimally adequate for the task. The student frequently repeats terms like 'convenient store', 'food', and 'health'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'everybody busy in their daily routine' and 'another artificial drinks'. Less common lexical items are attempted, but they are often inaccurate or misused. Spelling and word choice errors occur throughout the text, though they rarely impede overall communication entirely, which places the lexical score at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most complex sentence attempts are faulty, missing essential verbs or conjunctions, such as in 'because they have not time to waste on cooking' and 'it depends on person what kind of food they to buy'. Simple sentences are more reliable, but frequent grammatical errors, missing articles (e.g., '90% people'), and incorrect verb forms cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. The high frequency of basic structural errors restricts the score to a Band 5.0.
