IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern era, we have "wide range of verities" in food so that we can consume typical food at anywhere. However, in many countries they packed in worst package so due to that people get ill. Personally i believe buying food from supermarket is slight bad for health.

To begin with, nowadays the demand of packaging has been increased by 43% from 1980. Consume a packaging food is for people as well as especially for those people who live alone and they have very busy and hectic schedule so they grab that kind of food. But eat that kind of food frequently is not good for human body because we have no idea how seller prepared that food like; if they prepared it in pam oil which have 37% fat and other bad preservatives they used in that particular product. Moreover, supermarkets are the place where the owner of supermarket think about only money such as he/she buy things in bulk due to that they can not take care of all products so sometime it have very high risk they unfortunately they sell expire date products which makes bad impact on human body.

However, in some part of world are suffering from rats problem also they eat a food from supermarket and if that kind of food will buy by consumer so there is high chance they will suffer from harsh diseases like food poisoning. Furthermore, in Maharashtra which is very popular stat of India; a IAS officer took action against 41 supermarkets because they sell food which are already already expired. As well as in lots of countries have numbers of cases like expired, they sell product in high prices and supermarket's is not take care of their products.

To conclude that, buying food from supermarket makes to much negative effect on body because we don't know how they prepare it such as supermarkets have only focus on to make many not to sell healthy products.
