Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the positive aspects of buying global food at supermarkets, maintaining a clear position throughout. Ideas such as taste variety, cultural exchange, and international bonding are introduced, meeting the basic task requirements. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, points like 'taste variety of foods' and 'dwellers preferred to eat foreign food' are stated simply without deep elaboration or extension. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments lack robust supporting examples, pulling the score into the lower-middle range. The text touches upon the key issues, but the supporting explanations require greater depth and clearer real-world examples to reach a higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing basic organizational structure. Transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'Moving further' are used to guide the reader, though they are sometimes formulaic. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. For example, sentences such as 'Furthermore, not only profit of sellers but also culture exchange' lack verbs and clear logical links. Referencing and pronoun use are occasionally confusing, and repetition of ideas disrupts the overall progression. While the overarching structure is discernible, the lack of smooth, accurate cohesive devices and mechanical phrasing keeps the score at a band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'food', 'good', and 'nations'. There are numerous word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Globalisation changed the humans lives rapidly' and 'make strong bond' instead of 'build strong bonds'. The phrase 'true taste' is unnatural in this context. While the student attempts less common items like 'vindicatiom' (which is misspelled) and 'globalisation', the high frequency of inaccurate lexical choices and grammatical phrasing limits precision. The range is minimally adequate for communicating basic ideas, but errors in word formation and collocation cause noticeable strain for the reader throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent and noticeable grammatical errors. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty or incomplete, such as 'It is believed that nowadays, buyers can go to a supermarket for buy all over the world food.' Errors include missing verbs ('there are several positive points are associated'), incorrect prepositions ('with help of eat'), and tense/agreement issues ('When country have many kinds of foods then the price of foods are become cheaper'). Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, as seen in the lowercase 'i' in the conclusion. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.
