IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
In this modern world, Several product can largely imported from lot of cuntries by global trade. In the supermarket buying food produced all over the worl is very convitient. However, it is very intresting but it has many negitive impact.
Diifrent kind of food imported from all over the countries has strong impact on the econmy of it's country. Because continously importing food from other countries is very complicated method, State needs to buy international curruncy and it decrease the values of state currency. For example, A states need to some amount which specified according to desire of international provider country. When state come again to get more money the provider state increase ammout they required for providing currency. This act decreas the value of this state currency.Therefore, Sourcing food from all over world has impact on the economy of country.
Moreover, International food has significantly imapct on the local comunity trade. If any country extensively produce enoygh food for his country, Buying international food decrease the demand of local food and local cummunity can not get enough profit to fullfill thier life needs. For example, if there is new food available in supermarket so every indivisual will prefer to buy it rather than local food. As a result, Availbilty of internaion food local trade can face loss.
In conclusion, no matter buying new food give enjoyment but it has extreme negative impact for state. Buying intenation food decrease the currency values as well as local trande in comunity. At all, to keep balance between them state should impose heavy tax on imported food.
