Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays people would like to go supermarket and buy food produced all the worldwide because they can check the product with their own hands. I partially think it is a positive impact on them.

Firstly, those who are still buying product from the markets they can do price and quality comparision, furthermore they have ability to make constant relation with consumers. For instance, the product brought from store not only provide better discount but also they give warranty. Secondly, those who are consuming less amount of time on phone and not aware about new stuffs so they get chance to know more about on going market through other people. Hence, those who aviod offline market and offen prefer online order they suffer from health issues like obesity, eye number and all.

On the other hand, in the busy schedule it is more difficult to go retail shops because of traffic issues in many nation. For example, if they reach on closing time of shop, sometime the shopekeeper won't allow to enter the shop. After that they used to buy from online and this might be negative impact on the consumers. There are many senior citizen who still belives shopping, also they are good in bargaining and collecting best quality of product due to their ancient experience.

In colcusion, in many countries consumer prefer to visit supermarket and buy food produced all over the world which is positive for those have long term experience in that and they can stuck on that process, otherwise it could be negative for those you has busy time table.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding the positive and negative developments of consuming global food from supermarkets, adopting a partial position. However, the connection between global food production and the arguments presented is somewhat weak and tangential. The student discusses general pros and cons of physical supermarkets versus online shopping and elderly bargaining habits, rather than directly focusing on the socioeconomic or environmental implications of imported global food supplies. Ideas are introduced but remain limited and under-developed, with unsupported assertions such as online shoppers suffering from 'eye number' issues. While the prompt is touched upon, the lack of focused development keeps the score at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some organizational structure with four paragraphs and attempts at cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In colcusion'. However, progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and abrupt shifts in topic within paragraphs. For example, the second paragraph mixes arguments about price comparison with claims about online ordering and health issues, making the logical flow difficult to follow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty and mechanical, aligning closely with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently hindered by word-choice and collocation errors that occasionally impede understanding. Phrases like 'check the product with their own hands', 'ancient experience', and 'eye number' demonstrate a limited range and misuse of idiomatic or natural collocations. Spelling mistakes ('colcusion', 'belives', 'shopekeeper') and awkward grammatical forms are present, though the vocabulary remains minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning, which is characteristic of a Band 5 performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex attempts are grammatically faulty. There are frequent errors in verb tense, article usage, and subject-verb agreement throughout the text, such as 'those who are still buying product from the markets they can do', 'the product brought from store', and 'those you has busy time table'. Punctuation is also erratic. While basic sentences are occasionally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical errors causes strain and difficulty for the reader, placing this response firmly in the Band 4.5 to 5.0 range.
