In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.

Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, all types of foreign food are available in the supermarkets in many countries. This development is undeniably positive because it is highly beneficial for the local businessmen and even for the country itself. Additionally, people can experience new type of food without visiting a new nation.
There are several benefits of the availability of food from all over the world in the local markets. The prime advantage of this situation would be the expansion of local business to the global marketplaces. For example, the Hilsha fish of Bangladesh is exported abroad in many different countries like India, Canada and even in the USA. As a result, the fishermen of Bangladesh are gaining high profits from the other countries, which in turn makes Bangladesh stronger economically.
Another important merit behind this development is on the consumer level where people can experience new cuisine without traveling to a new place which is quite expensive. People can try out Thai, Chinese, Italian food without even visiting Thailand, China or Italy. One example of this would be the opportunity to eat Thai sticky mango rice, Pad Thai, Korean ramen and many more foreign items in Bangladesh. Hence, all these items are possible to consume at home because of the trade happening between countries.
In conclusion, the trend of finding food produced all over the world in the supermarkets in many countries is obviously a blessing where the local businessmen and the countries can make profits out of it and become economically stronger than ever, at the same time, the consumers can enjoy a wide range of food without stepping out from the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt directly, taking a clear positive stance on the availability of global food in supermarkets. The main body paragraphs present two distinct and relevant main ideas: economic benefits for exporting countries such as Bangladesh through the global marketplace, and consumer-level benefits such as experiencing diverse cuisines affordably without international travel. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the export of Hilsha fish and specific dishes like Thai sticky mango rice. While the development is somewhat straightforward rather than deeply analytical, it fully satisfies the requirements of Band 6.5 to 7.0 by covering all parts of the task with a clear position and well-supported arguments throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, moving smoothly from a clear introduction to well-defined body paragraphs and a concise concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used effectively to connect ideas, such as "Additionally", "For example", and "Hence". Paragraphing is managed appropriately, and referencing throughout the text is clear. While some cohesive transitions feel slightly formulaic, the overall progression is easy to follow and meets the requirements for a Band 7.0 rating.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, allowing for some precision and flexibility. Appropriate terms such as "undeniably positive", "expansion", "global marketplaces", and "economically stronger" are used effectively. There are minor lexical inaccuracies, such as "experience new type of food" instead of "types", but these do not impede communication. The writer successfully incorporates less common items with general awareness of collocation, placing the response comfortably within the Band 6.0 to 6.5 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay displays a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including relative clauses and conditional-like framing (e.g., "where people can experience new cuisine without traveling"). Control of grammar and punctuation is generally good, though minor errors appear, such as the singular/plural mismatch in "experience new type of food" and a slightly run-on concluding sentence. However, frequent error-free sentences are present, and errors do not impede communication, supporting a solid Band 6.5 performance.
