Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today most of people in many countries are buying different food that is prodcued globally from the single supermarket, which allows people to taste many flavours of different countries at a single time. I believed that this is a postive change which is more convineint for the individuals to purchase many items from single store, there are some disadvantages associate with this as people are consuming without knowing how that food was produced or made, may be chemicals were being used to preserve them for longer period.
On the one hand, in past everyone were busy in their strick shedule and they got very little time to enjoy variety of food that was available in resturants but now supermarkets have access to all kind of food from all over the world , which is also available for those who had busy shedules ,as they can easily get food when they visit market for their groceries. Moreover, many people especially the foodies were travelling and paying thousands of dollars for the air tickets just for the sake of single pack or plate of their favourite food, but now they have not not worried about that as they can easily get whatever they want, what taste they need, from the supermarket. So this is a positive development so far.
However, nowadays many food companies are usuing different harmful chemicals for preserving the tin food or packed food for longer time, it is good for the company but it have detrimental impact on people specially they childern who are now using the imported foor daily. It not only have impact on human digestive system but also it have negative impact on our brain, so these limits the use of imported food items.
In conclusion, nowadays people have excess to each kind of imported food that they get from supermarkets, it saves their time and money, as now people don't have to specially book a ticket for that, they can easily get from supermarket. I think this is a positive development in different countries. Beside this there are some disadvantages as chemicals used to increase food longetivity or maintain flavor but it have effects our health negatively.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the availability of global food in supermarkets and clearly stating a position that this is a positive development. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as referencing people with busy schedules and food lovers who previously traveled for international cuisine. However, some arguments lack deep development, and the conclusion is slightly repetitive. The writer covers both the positive aspects (convenience, time-saving) and the negative aspects (chemicals, health impacts), satisfying the core requirements of Task 2. This performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors, where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though some areas could be more fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement with a distinct introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, fulfilling the basic requirements of paragraphing. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions between ideas, such as 'On the one hand', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, and sentence boundaries are occasionally blurred by comma splices, such as in 'purchase many items from single store, there are some disadvantages'. Progression is generally logical, but the internal flow of sentences can feel disjointed. These features place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'detrimental impact', 'longevity', and 'flavours'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'prodcued' for produced, 'postive' for positive, 'convineint' for convenient, 'strick shedule' for strict schedule, 'usuing' for using, 'foor' for food, and 'excess' for access. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher lexical band, making Band 5.5 an accurate representation of the vocabulary performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing subordinate clauses with 'which' and 'as'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'most of people', 'in past everyone were', 'it have detrimental impact', 'they childern'). Additionally, there are punctuation issues like comma splices connecting independent clauses. While communication is generally maintained despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate complex structures keeps the score at Band 5.0.
