Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays it is prevalent that in most of the countries, local shops and supermarkets provide the customers all types of comodities manufactured all over the world. In my perspective it is a negative development beacuse availabilty of diverse food items leads to over consumption and reduce the upperhand of conventional food items.

A good reason is that the easy availabilty leads to overuse which is unhealthy and cause several health problems like obesity and heart problems. On top of that, most of the food items are packed and frozen that is even more dangerous to health. For instance, a recent article published in a famous health magazine mentioned that the food items like meat, chicken and cooked food items imported from other countries lead to fatty liver and other serious health conditions. It is seen that the over consumption of foregin foods lead to the significant reduction in use of traditional food items. Such food items are part of the culture and these practices leads to the extinction of culture. In addition to that it is exaggeration of some items create publicity among the people which results in overuse. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that global food availability is a negative development, citing health concerns and cultural loss. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on sweeping generalisations without sufficient detailed examples. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the student's response contains only 240 words against the minimum requirement of 250 words. Additionally, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the concluding sentence with the word "subse". Consequently, these factors limit the development of the task to a Band 5.5 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with an introduction, body paragraph, and a truncated conclusion. However, the progression is hindered by abrupt transitions and a lack of clear overall development. Cohesive devices are occasionally used ("In addition to that", "Moreover"), but referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical nature of the linking words makes the flow slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but the main body is grouped into a single, overly dense block that covers multiple distinct arguments ranging from health to culture and economics. These organizational weaknesses place the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like "commodities", "overconsumption", "extinction", and "economic stability". There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as "prevalent" instead of preferable or common, "comodities" (spelling mistake), "availabilty", "foregin", and "stabilty". Less common items are attempted with mixed success, and these lexical slips occasionally cause slight distraction for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. This profile corresponds to a solid Band 6.0 for lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional-like structures ("it is evident that rise in purchase demands the importing..."). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("availability of diverse food items lead", "availabilty of all food items are not that good"), missing articles, and punctuation errors. While the structures used are varied enough to attempt complexity, the accumulation of errors in basic grammar rules and the incomplete sentence at the end pull the score to a Band 5.0.
