Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the facilities has been improved and people can purchase any kind of food from supermarket which are producing in the whole world. I undoubtedly believe that this development has positive impact as it provides a better options to customers and also supporting the international trade.

The prior consideration for believing this as an positive view is that it gives a greater choices to consumers according to their likes and dislikes as well as get chance to taste various variety of food from different regions. Such as finding vageterian food in foreign is way too difficult and if there are plenty of options people can intake good quality of food and snakes which provided by other countries. For instance, my cousin is living in America and he barely get enough time to cook meals at home. Because of this developments now he can find Indian food in any supermarket.

Another prominents cause of this positive phenomenon is that this idea became a huge advantage for international trade as each country is collaborating with each other and providing their food to another nation. It can creat ecoomic opportunities for farmers and buisnesses. Producers can sell their food to foreign costumers as well, which can wilder the income and influence to foreighners to consume international food. To exemplify, the Indian government has announced that this developments incresed 40% of international marketing overseas which affected on economy.

In conclusion, i firmly believe that this point of view has various benefits as it can provide plenty of affortable and reliable food as well as improve the international trade to overseas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that the availability of global food in supermarkets is a positive development. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of an Indian government report and personal anecdotes about a cousin living abroad. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in places, and some arguments lack deeper elaboration. For instance, the discussion on vegetarian food and snakes contains minor logical leaps and slight task confusion, but the overall stance is maintained throughout. This aligns closely with the Band 6 descriptors where all parts are addressed and relevant ideas are presented, though some are slightly under-developed or unclear.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and logical progression, divided into clear paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'The prior consideration', 'For instance', and 'Another prominents cause'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'this idea became a huge advantage'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, but the transitional phrasing can feel a bit unnatural at times. These characteristics are typical of a Band 6 performance, where organization is generally clear despite mechanical use of cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'collaborating', 'phenomenon', and 'ecoomic opportunities'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'facilities has been improved', 'producing' instead of 'produced', 'vageterian', 'snakes' instead of 'snacks', 'prominents', 'creat', 'buisnesses', 'wilder' instead of 'widen', and 'incresed'. While these errors occasionally distract the reader, they do not impede overall communication. The vocabulary control is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, matching the criteria for a Band 5.5 or solid Band 6, but lexical errors keep it firmly at a Band 5.5 due to frequency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('facilities has been improved'), passive voice misuse ('which are producing'), and article/preposition slips ('in foreign'). Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, evidenced by lowercase 'i' pronouns. These errors frequently occur across sentences, although they rarely impede overall communication. Because complex structures are often faulty and errors are noticeable throughout the text, this performance fits the Band 5 descriptor well.
