Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt that in this modern era individuals have different attitudes towards their grocery shopping. Therefore, in numerous countries nowadays, individuals can go to the super stores and purchase food which is produced worldwide. I strongly believe that it is positive development to buy international food from markets. This essay will look more into beneficial side in detail.

One of the primary reason is that it save their money. The reason behind this, foriegn countries are promoting their food on social media, which they watch in reels and videos, thereby they have a curiosity to go those countries and try trendy foods. As a result, to buying these food from stores save their significant amount of money. As a consequence, they may explore different cultural food easily at their native country. For instance, Individuals get accessibility of trying sushi at their birth country without flying to Japan, which is marvelous for them financially.

Another major factor is that it is less time consuming. This is beacuse, people have become workaholic, thereby they do not have much time to fly another country for trying viral foods. In the shorter term, purchasing international food allow them to follow trends in convenient way. In the longer term, it is advantageous for their favorite craving foods. For example, kunafa choclate, which is famous chocolate of Dubai, accessible found in every supermarket in Pakistan.

To conclude, I firmly belive that it is not disadvantageous to buy forign country food from stores. Because,I claim that it is saviour for consumer's money and also it take less time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that global access to food is a positive development. Ideas are presented to support this view, focusing on financial savings and convenience. However, the development of these ideas is sometimes limited and occasionally wanders off-point; for instance, the argument regarding social media reels and curiosity about traveling does not clearly or logically connect to saving money on groceries. While the writer attempts to support the main thesis, the reasoning remains superficial and repetitive in places. Consequently, the task is addressed, but the arguments lack depth and full extension, aligning best with a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion within sentences and paragraphs is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'The reason behind this, foriegn countries are promoting' and 'This is beacuse, people have become workaholic' are grammatically awkward and disrupt the flow. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences requires more careful signposting. These characteristics fit the descriptors for a Band 5.5 to 6.0, settling securely at a Band 6.0 due to the overall logical structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts. There are attempts to incorporate less common lexical items such as 'workaholic', 'accessible', and 'marvelous'. However, there are notable limitations and word-choice errors, including spelling mistakes ('foriegn', 'beacuse', 'belive', 'choclate') and awkward collocations like 'accessibility of trying sushi' instead of 'access to sushi'. The precision and control over vocabulary remain limited, preventing the score from reaching a higher band. These lexical features are characteristic of Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing hinder fluency. Examples include subject-verb agreement and preposition issues such as 'it save their money', 'to buying these food', 'fly another country', and 'accessible found'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with comma splices and misplaced commas appearing throughout the text (e.g., 'Because,I claim that...'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency prevents the writing from achieving a Band 6.0, making a Band 5.5 a more accurate reflection of grammatical control.
