Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years,it has been argued that what are the impacts to go to a supermarket for grocery shopping, produced all over the world. I believe this is a positive development due to several compelling reasons. This essay will not only ellaborate on my viewpoint but also provide relative examples to support it.

To begin with, one of the most significant reasons is that it makes our lives easy. This can be attributed to the fact that technology has been made our lives our lives quite comfortable as we have mobile phones to communicate with friends and family and also we can do many tasks online. For grocery shopping, we just have to go a supermarket and can pick whatever we want and bring them to home. For instance, people in many developing countries do not have much time to cook the whole meal and then eat them, instead they prefer to have half cooked meals, which can also save time for other activities. Therefore, we can have all types of food produced all over the world instantly.

Moreover, another crucial factor is that a complete supply chain, which helps those who are contributing into a supply chain. As a food company imports raw material and half cooked foods from all over the world, and then process them to make a final product and then supply to all supermarkets in a region. For instances, it helps underdeveloping countries to increase their export all over the world and and also it helps individual small bussiness to export thier locol food or reciepes to make profits. It also creates job in all relative sectors and help to reduce unemployment.

In conclusion, many critics may argue that this develpoment tend to ignore all hardworks made by the people to make ready made foods. I firmly agree on this develpoment due to the reasons discussed above. Thus, goverments should look into this develpoment to make sure about the

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear positive stance and attempts to provide supporting reasons, such as the convenience of modern grocery shopping and the benefits to global supply chains and employment. However, the development of these ideas suffers from wandering into irrelevant tangents, such as discussing mobile phones and general technology in the second paragraph rather than focusing specifically on global food availability. Furthermore, the conclusion trails off abruptly and remains unfinished ("make sure about the"). Because the main parts of the task are addressed but ideas are partially under-developed and lack sustained focus, this performance aligns with Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a basic attempt at paragraphing. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, such as "For instances" and "and and also." Referencing can also be unclear, as seen in the sentence starting with "This can be attributed to the fact that technology has been made our lives our lives..." where the logical link to global food production is weak. Additionally, the final paragraph cuts off mid-sentence, preventing a cohesive wrap-up. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for conveying basic ideas, such as "supermarket," "grocery shopping," "developing countries," and "unemployment." However, there are frequent lexical errors, incorrect word forms, and poor collocations throughout the text, including "ellaborate," "underdeveloping countries," "small bussiness," "thier locol food," and "reciepes." The student attempts less common vocabulary (e.g., "supply chain"), but the high frequency of spelling mistakes and awkward phrasing limits precision and sometimes impedes smooth reading, which is characteristic of Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control is weak. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the response, such as "what are the impacts to go to a supermarket," "technology has been made our lives our lives quite comfortable," and "this develpoment tend to ignore." Punctuation and article usage are also problematic, and the unfinished sentence at the very end leaves a major grammatical gap. Because complex structures are frequently faulty and errors cause some difficulty for the reader without completely obscuring the core message, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
