Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food in supermarkets is a positive development. Ideas are presented, such as variety of choice and global connection, but they are often under-developed and repetitive. For instance, the mention of kiwi and strawberry being transported from New Zealand supports the argument, but the subsequent tangent regarding home-made food taking too much time and the benefits of sandwiches and burgers detracts from the main thesis. While all parts of the task are addressed, the support lacks full extension and tends to generalise. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

There is a basic logical organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs marked by signposts like 'On the one hand' and 'Another key point to consider', and a conclusion. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward sentence boundaries, such as fragmenting sentences with incorrect full stops ('...their local restaurant. And taste different. Kind of foods.'). Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the paragraphs is weak, resulting in an overall arrangement that corresponds to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as 'preple' instead of people, 'varity', and 'made buy another countries'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'globalisation', 'subsequent fragments', and 'transported', the execution shows noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'buy and sale process'. These limitations in range and precision are characteristic of Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('this food is transported... they enjoy', 'which did not produced'), incorrect prepositions ('produced in their country'), and severe punctuation errors that create sentence fragments. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader, though meaning can generally still be deciphered. This performance aligns with a Band 5.0 for grammar.
