IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In present trend many nations offer various types of food products from every country in the place called supermarket.
In my opinion, on balance, going with the present style is better. The major advantage is that it offers almost every food type that may be non-seasonal, non-available and not grown in that area etc., it make to come to you.
Apple which grows only in cold areas which is sensitive to high temperature, in addition mango a seasonal fruit only available in summer and african dates that are not seen in other nations which are famous for its flavors, with the supermarker they are available all around the year irrespectively. Not only fruits or dates it makes easy to get access to experiences different food cultures of other places and also improve the revenue by importing and exporting which is a big advantage.
In contrast, it makes small market's, shops and farmers to face challenges who depend on the food selling sources which effect their daily income and overall it makes their life difficult to survive it that field due to increses in competetion with the prices offered by the big companies supermart's.
In conclution, it is better to have supermarker that supplyes various food and improve the revenue and availability of food, its also important to see the need of the small shops and farmers whose life goes with food selling and supplyes, by making little changes to these drawbacks we can achieve the gole of offering food produceds all by the supermart.
