Student answer (Band 6.0)
The supermarts and grocery stores are densly populated with food that are manufactured from different corners of the world. Many argues that instead of importing the food from different countries, the goverment and private companies should take initiatives to produce these items in our country.
I am more lean towards the idea of the importing food from all around the world as it plays a major role in extending the shopping options for the consumer. Not only that, the import and export trade relation plays a significant role in the developing the economies of both countries in relation.
In this way, consumers have an easy approach to products produced at far corner of the world which they don't have access to, unless they travel to that part of the world. For examples the Pringles chips a consumer loving product is only native to only few countries in terms of manufacturing, however its distributed to most countries.
Competitors all around the globe who tried to manufacture the same quality product but failed to attain the consumer market. The consumer market seems to be more convinced with the the orginal pringles snacks, rather than trusting any other brands.
Having that said, the trading relation between countires plays a vital role in the development of trade relations. Not only it strengthens the economy but also open oppurtunities to different programs such as education, architecture, employment and more. I believe its a postive development for the country.
However, it's important to note that if the home country has all the raw resources to manufacture and produce the same quality products that are being imported from foreign then government should avail this opportunity. Using local resources will definately be more advantageous and bring more business, rather then imported products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a stance in favor of importing food and discussing both consumer benefits and economic trade relations. The position is clear throughout the text, and relevant ideas are presented. However, some ideas lack full extension and suffer from limited elaboration, particularly when discussing examples like Pringles chips, which remains somewhat anecdotal and under-developed. Additionally, the final paragraph introduces a concession that slightly complicates the clear stance, though the overall progression of ideas is still relevant to the task. These limitations place the performance at a Band 6.5 level, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, but could feature more fully extended arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a clear overall progression of ideas, beginning with an introduction of the topic and the writer's position, followed by body paragraphs supporting consumer choices and economic benefits, and ending with a counterpoint and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised adequately to separate distinct points. However, cohesive devices are at times mechanical or somewhat repetitive, such as the use of 'In this way' and 'Having that said'. Referencing is generally clear, but transitional phrases between paragraphs can be abrupt. Overall, the organizational structure is coherent and easy to follow, aligning well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'extending the shopping options' and 'import and export trade relation'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'supermarts', 'densly', 'goverment', 'lean' instead of 'leaning', 'orginal', and 'postive'. Furthermore, some collocations are awkward or inaccurate, such as 'consumer loving product' and 'attain the consumer market'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 6.0, as the inaccuracies show limitations in precision and word control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that persist throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('food that are manufactured', 'the importing food'), missing articles ('the importing food', 'from foreign'), and awkward phrasing ('if the home country has all the raw resources to manufacture and produce the same quality products that are being imported from foreign then government should avail this opportunity'). Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the writing from reaching a Band 6.5, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.
