Student answer (Band 6.0)
In most countries these days, customer can go to a supermarket and purchase food items that is manufactured all over the world. This trend has both positive and negative aspects. From my standpoint, I believe this trend offers certain positive effects as it is convenient, flexibility and reliability.
To commence with, a most compelling reason supporting its benefits are convenient and flexibility. It facilitates buyer to purchase easily from the supermarket and enables them to get everything from single store. For example, most of the people prefer to buy food products from superstore and accomplish certain benefits. This instance clearly demonstrates how buying from supermarket can provide advantages. Consequently, a large number of people can derive substantial benefits from supermarket.
Another noteworthy positive effect is that buying from mart has a greater reliability than others shops. Because people are more trusted to international products as it facilitates to spend their money on right brands. In addition, supermarket has a lot of brand product manufacture all over the world, therefore it is easy to rely upon supermarket. For instance, people in most countries like to purchase multinational products as it has greater products quality and affordable price. This example firmly illustrates how supermarket contributes toward society with positive effects. As a result it has a positive impact on our society.
In conclusion, the trend of buying food from supermarket has several positive advantages in terms of reliability and flexibility. This aspect has greater benefits to enable people to buy multinational products from a supermarket and to save their time. Therefore, this trend should be actively promoted in modern society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that the trend of buying globally produced food in supermarkets is a positive development. Ideas are presented regarding convenience, flexibility, and reliability. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the second paragraph states that the trend offers convenience and flexibility, but the supporting sentences merely restate this rather than providing concrete examples or elaboration (e.g., 'This instance clearly demonstrates how buying from supermarket can provide advantages'). While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and rely on general assertions rather than fully extended discussion. Consequently, the task achievement aligns with the criteria for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting distinct supporting arguments, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. However, cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'Consequently' are used, but the logical progression between sentences is occasionally hindered by vague referencing and repetitive structures (e.g., 'As a result it has a positive impact on our society' following similar concluding thoughts). Additionally, referencing words such as 'others shops' and 'it facilitates to spend' create minor disruptions in flow. Overall, the logical organization is coherent, meriting a score of 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts to use a range of vocabulary appropriate to the topic, including terms such as 'supermarket,' 'multinational products,' 'convenient,' and 'reliability.' However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word formations throughout the text. Examples include 'customer can go' (singular instead of plural), 'manufactured all over the world' (produced is more suitable for food), and 'flexibility' used where a noun phrase like 'flexible options' might be better suited. Furthermore, collocation and word choice errors such as 'people are more trusted to international products' and 'brand product manufacture' limit precision. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures with relative clauses ('food items that is manufactured') and causal links. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement ('food items that is', 'a most compelling reason... are'), missing articles ('from single store'), and incorrect verb forms ('it facilitates to spend'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, and the meaning remains clear despite the errors. Because the grammatical errors are frequent enough to detract from accuracy while a mix of structures is still attempted, the performance corresponds to a Band 5.5.
