IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In contemporary society a variety of food is available in supermarkets from all over the word which people can avail easily. This is a positive development which contribute a lot to our lives. First of all It positively impacts farmers, so they can produce more food and scale their business. This global Trading increases business opportunities because food is produced at mass level for millions of consumers, so a large community get benefited by it. Moreover in global Trading cleanliness is first priority which is done by grading the food items and only best products are send to other countries.
As we know before scientific methods of preserving food which was available at that moment. Similarly out season food was also unavailable. So now people can enjoy a variety food even out season and from every part of the world.
