Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear positive position regarding the availability of global food in supermarkets, pointing to consumer choice and economic benefits. The main ideas are introduced, such as variety, budget-friendly shopping, and export income for developing nations. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. While the writer touches upon how supermarkets serve as a medium for transport and profit, the explanation lacks depth and specific real-world examples beyond general mentions of fruits, meats, and vegetables. To reach a higher band, the arguments need to be more fully extended and supported with precise explanations. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it at a Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a clear attempt at a standard structure. However, logical progression is often hindered by abrupt transitions and confusing referencing, such as 'To it communite would experences buget friendly shopping' and 'Another thing to consider'. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately at times, and paragraphing is mechanically applied rather than seamlessly integrated. While the general direction of the argument is discernible, the lack of smooth links between sentences and paragraphs means the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted. This performance corresponds to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, featuring numerous spelling and word-formation errors throughout the text, such as 'reasing' for reasoning, 'discusion' for discussion, 'amongs', 'varities', 'bodyes', 'how', 'larg', 'priceses', 'communite', 'buget', 'neares', 'productes', 'qulities', 'furits', 'utilised', 'eatables', 'profities', 'exprotes', 'globaliisation', 'hug', 'proportion', 'groceryies', 'shopes', 'busiiness', 'transpoart', 'vagetables', 'majorty', 'inconclution', 'productes', 'improve', 'internatinal', 'addtion', and 'rececives'. These numerous lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes place a significant burden on the reader and frequently impede clear communication, aligning with the descriptors for Band 4.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and error-prone attempts at complex constructions. There are frequent, persistent errors in tense usage, article selection, subject-verb agreement, and prepositional phrases. Examples include 'I strongly believe with this view point', 'customer gets the varities', 'supermarket provides larg amount', 'Today's majorty of developing countries transpoart vagetables', and 'International supply of foods productes... has improve international economic in better way.' These grammatical mistakes are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader in parsing the intended meaning, reflecting the criteria for a Band 4.5.
