IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are some people who are fond of trying out variety of dishes belonging to different countries.So, in many countries nowadays, there are supermarkets consisting variety of food produced all over the world.I belive that this is a positive development, because consumer can go to supermarket and buy food that has been produced and considered as special dish of another country.
One of the main reasons behind considering this as positive developement is because people go on vacations and trips to different countries in the world. So there's a possiblity of some people preferring vegetarian food, so having supermarkets which provides kind of food produced all over the world would be big advantage for them.Like I went to the USA last year, and I prefer having vegeterain food, so in USA there's a supermarket as Patel Brothers which keeps stock of food items and products belonging to India. In result it was a big help for me that I got a chance of getting vegeterian food.
Another important reason is that, it allows people to try variety of dishes of all over the world.People belonging to one part of the country can get a chance to taste authenticate special dishes of other countries too.Like, I live in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and I am more fond of trying out korean and Itallian food. so there's a supermarket which includes almost all food items and products of various countries so that it allows me to buy those specific food products and items which I like that in return fulfill my wish of trying food of different cuisine.
In conclusion, from my perspective I think that many countires having supermarket having food produced of all over the world is a positive developement for sure because it allows people to taste variety of dishes of other countires by being in one part of the country they live in.
