Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, supermarkets sell a wide variety of food products that are produces from different part of the world. This development has more common because of international trade and transportation, although it has some drawbacks. From my perespective it is a postive development becuase it provides consumers with more choices and experience other cultures.
To begin with, people can enjoy a greater variety of international food throughout the whole year. In the past, individuals are mainly depend on locally produced food, so some food products are avaiable on particular session. However, international food supplies allow customers to buy fruits, vegetable and ingerdients at any time. For example, supermarkets in pakistan can sell apples from new zealand or seafood from bangkok. This allow consumer more freedom to choose products according to their preferences and need. Moreover, trying international food introduce people new cultues eating habit.
Furthermore, importing some internationl food from distant countires need long ditance requires ships, trucks and train. For example, aeroplane produce a significant amount of carbon emission, which contribute to environmental damage, other transportation syestems also gives vital damage to climate. In Addition, imported products can also be expensive becausse transportation and other cost can also be added their prices. Moreover, popularity of foreige food may reduce the demand of locally made ingredient, which could create diffulties for some local farmers and business. Neverthless, these problems can be reduce by encouraging consumer to buy local made products, so this may rise the ecnomy of those areas.
In conclusion, selling food from around the world could increase pollution, cost and competition for local produces. But i belive that, the greater variey of food and experience diiferent culture is beneficial for cunsumers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by expressing a clear position that the global availability of food is a positive development. Ideas are well-extended and supported, covering both the benefits of variety and cultural exposure, as well as acknowledging drawbacks such as environmental impact and economic effects on local farmers. The position is maintained consistently throughout the essay. While some of the supporting details in the counter-argument paragraph could have been slightly more elaborated, the overall task response fulfills the requirements for a Band 7.0, as all parts of the prompt are addressed with a clear position and relevant supporting ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is clearly organised into four paragraphs, demonstrating a logical overall progression. The writer uses standard cohesive devices such as "To begin with", "Furthermore", and "In conclusion" to signal the structure of the argument. However, some cohesive devices and referencing are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as "other transportation systems also gives vital damage" and abrupt transitions between ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear central topic for each paragraph, supporting an overall coherence that aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "international trade", "carbon emission", and "preferences". However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "produces" instead of "produced", "perespective" instead of "perspective", "postive" instead of "positive", "becuase" instead of "because", and "avaiable on particular session" instead of "available in particular seasons". These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0 due to recurring inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("individuals are mainly depend", "aeroplae produce"), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ("need long ditance requires ships"). Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present (e.g., missing spaces after periods, lowercase "i"). While the meaning is generally clear despite these slips, the frequency of errors places this response firmly in the Band 5.0 to 5.5 range, with Band 5.0 best capturing the frequency of structural errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
